Smoothie bowl season is officially here! Chocolatey, fruity, and fresh - this is my kind of breakfast. I love the combination of the sweet and tart berries with the rich chocolate. A base of frozen bananas is my favourite way to get that perfect thick and smooth texture we all crave in a smoothie bowl! I used VegiDay Plant Based Protein Powder in the flavour Decadent Chocolate for this recipe, and it truly lives up to the name. Thank you so much to VegiDay and Vista Magazine Canada for collaborating with me on this recipe!

Serves 1 Ready in 5m vegan gluten free refined sugar free
2 bananas, peeled, chopped, frozen
2-4 tablespoons non-dairy milk
1 tablespoon cacao or cocoa powder
a handful of mixed berries to top
In a food processor or high speed blender, pulse bananas, protein powder, and non-dairy milk until smooth. Start with 2 tablespoons of non-dairy milk, and add more if you would like it thinner
Serve in your favourite bowl and top with a handful of fresh berries
Make sure to eat this ASAP, as it will get melty! I don't mind storing a regular smoothie in the fridge for a few hours if I need to, but for a thick smoothie bowl you definitely want to eat it when the frozen bananas are still really cold and thick
